We have a few issues with self posts, among them: they often don't link to anything, and are therefore not valid submissions, and need to be removed. They have the potential to try to circumvent other sidebar rules, or otherwise sneak spam past the filter. Ultimately, in a subreddit where every post must link to a source, we do not feel that there should be an option to submit a post without a link. As for submissions where the OP would like to link to more than 1 source, we ask that the primary source be the link, and the secondary / supplemental source be posted in the comments.
I vote to allow self posts, provided there is ONLY ONE, single link in the text that would normally suffice as a verifiable source if it had been submitted as the post's link.
I vote to allow self posts, provided there is AT LEAST ONE link in the text that would normally suffice as a verifiable source if it had been submitted as the post's link. MULTIPLE LINKS IN THE TEXT ARE ACCEPTABLE.
I vote to not allow self posts. If a user wishes to submit multiple links, they should use "the "primary" link for their submission, and make a comment for the "secondary" link(s)
